The BODYATTACK 6-week challenge is the answer to
your fitness question; how can I get, stay in shape?
Last Fall, 2009, we kicked off our fist BODYATTACK Challenge and it was a huge success! We had 23 members participate and they blew us out of the water with their ability to Get Fit! Here’s the scoop; you will be asked to attend 2 BODYATTACK classes and 1 to 2 different Group Fitness Classes each week, you will also be asked to log your workouts; working with a Personal Trainer, walking with friends, swimming laps, etc. We will test your flexibility, endurance, strength and Body Fat at the beginning and at the end of the contest. You will compete against others and aim to make a positive change for yourself in just 6 weeks! This is our way of helping you kick start you’re fall in a fun, active and dynamic way!
DATES: Sept. 20th - Oct. 30th
FEE: $30 (includes T-shirt and Awards Ceremony at end of challenge)

This year’s 2010 Annual Get In Shape Contest was a HUGE success! We had 60% of our participants finish the contest and as a whole lost a total of 2,240 pounds! That is equal to 1 car or 5 Harleys; you would have to eat 7.8 Million calories to maintain that weight! 7.8 Million calories is equivalent to 16,100 Big Macs or 220 plates of Fettuccini Alfredo, wow! The Individual Categories lost a combined total of 556% Body Fat, what a fantastic achievement! We gave away a total of $17,000 in cash and donated prizes thanks to our sponsors. Thank you for making 2010 a memorable year, here’s to making 2011 even better!
Since the Get In Shape Contest Debbie has continued her success, she works with a Personal Trainer every week, Tanner Dean, participates in Group Fitness and utilizes Kids Club. Here is a brief look into what Debbie has been up to: I am very excited to have won 1st place in the Women’s Open category this year. I had my first baby last summer and 6 months later I hadn’t lost any of my baby weight. I actually gained 5 lbs in that 6 months and knew I needed to do something about it. I heard about the contest and thought this would be a great way to try and lose some of the weight. I entered the contest, purchased some Personal Training sessions with Tanner Dean and bought the Exerspy to keep count of my calories being burned. I was very motivated for the 12 weeks. The classes are a lot of fun and the staff is very encouraging! The weight began to come off and my body fat went from the “Very Poor category” to the “Good category”. Since the end of the contest I have lost another 8 lbs and am now in the “Excellent category” for my body fat! I am still working out with Tanner and am very excited about my lifestyle change I have made for myself.

Information on the Get In Shape Contest
Peak Performance Sports & Spine is open and operating a second location within YAC Fitness in Terrace Heights. This new location will be the first Physical Therapy clinic in Terrace Heights – a community which continues to grow and need more convenient access to healthcare services. Hours of operation are Tuesday – Friday. 6:30am – 6:00pm.
Peak Performance Sports & Spine is a locally owned and operated outpatient Physical Therapy clinic which provides a full spectrum of Physical Therapy services for pain and problems such as: sports injuries, car accident injuries, spinal injuries, work-related injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance problems, headaches, dizziness, and arthritis/joint pain. Ditch the Workout !Zumba is a Latin based workout that is fun and easy to do! The class is one exhilarating hour of caloric burning, heart racing, muscle pumping, and body energizing movements in a format YOU could take to the dance floor! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into your workout and you've got ZUMBA !
Zumba Classes are held at both the Yakima Athletic Club and YAC Fitness. Check the Group Fitness Schedule for specific days and times.

TOGETHER we were able to contribute $2,278 to the Ohana Mammography scholarship program. Thank you to the many new members that joined and to those who supported through your purchase of the pink T’s and products. We believe in preventative health and we applaud all men and women who take their membership in health and fitness seriously by engaging in a regular exercise program!
We offer two reciprocal program for our members who travel occasionally on business or vacation. First is FitLife Club Network Fitness-to-Go program that provides you with over 300 clubs in the Northwest to access when you travel. Most Fitlife Clubs offer free guest usage for FitLife affiliates. The second is IHRSA – an international reciprocal program that offers clubs all over the world. This is an excellent opportunity to visit the top clubs in the country while you travel. Kris Bell used the IHRSA passport in North, France at a club that offered Les Mills programming. She took BodyFLOW one day in French! It was fantastic.

Members have access to the YAC Fitness facilities 24 hours a day - 7 days a week - 365 days a year!
