Club

Kids Rec Room
The Kids Club Rec Room is a separate, quiet, room off of the Kids Club.
This room is designed for kids ages 6 to 14. We have air hockey, fuse
ball, television and a couch for kids to use.
Kids ages 6 – 14 may use Rec Room free of charge IF on a family
membership, otherwise see Kids Club rates.
Youth Spring Swim Lessons
The Yakima Athletic Club’s swim lesson program runs year round and is taught by WSI certified instructors. We use the Red Cross levels
in all our classes from preschool ages on up (3-14).
All classes are 30 minutes. Payment due at the time of sign up.
Sign-up begins March 22nd at Front Desk - Spring Session - April 20th - May 13th.
Group Swim Lesson Schedule
Preschool Classes 1 - 3
For children ages 3 - 5 who are ready for formal instruction in a class
atmosphere. Preschool classes have no more than 4 students per instructor.
Level 1 - 6
Instruction for children 6 - 14 using Red Cross lesson format. Level
classes generally have a 5 student per instructor ratio.
Dates, Times & Rates:
April 20th - May 13th
Classes run Tuesday and Thursday night
Lessons are ½ hour in length
6:30pm, 7:00pm, 7:30pm

Member: $45.00 +tax
Non Member: $55.00 + tax
Parent - Tot Class
For children 4 months - 2 1/2 years old (with a parent)
April 21st - May 12th
Classes run Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm
Lessons are ½ hour in length

Private Lessons
The Yakima Athletic Club takes pride in its private swim lesson program.
Just as our instructors for group lessons, our private swim lesson instructors
are WSI certified, progressive and responsible instructors. Private
lessons allow the instructor to work on specific skills that cater to
the individual. We also offer semi-private lessons.
Senior Instructor: A senior instructor has been teaching
for 5 or more years, has their Water Safety Instructor certification
and/or their United States Swimming Coaching certification.
Base Rate: $25 / 30 minutes
Semi Private: Base rate plus $2 each additional person
Special: 6 - ½ Hour Lessons for $135
Instructor: A private swim instructor has been teaching
for 1 or more years, has their Water Safety Instructor certification
and/or a extensive competitive swimming background.
Base Rate: $20 / 30 minutes
Semi Private: Base rate plus $2 each additional person
Special: 6 - ½ Hour Lessons for $99

YAC Swimming - Swim Team

YAC Swimming is a non-profit club swimming program. The YAC Swim Team
contracts to use the facilities at the Yakima Athletic Club.
YAC Swimming's mission is to provide the finest competitive swimming
instruction in Central Washington by offering competitors of all ages
and abilities the opportunity to improve their technical ability, psychological
skills and physical conditioning in a goal-oriented environment where
swimmers learn to swim well and race with confidence.
Coached by Lexie Sturges, YAC Swimming is actively recruiting swim team
participants ages 5 yrs on up through college age. For more information,

Lifeguard Rec Swim
Washington State Law States: Children fifteen years of age or younger,
can only use our aquatic facility during Lifeguard Hours. A responsible
adult, eighteen years of age or older, shall accompany the children and
be in the pool or on the pool deck at all times the children use the facility.
When the pool is used by persons fifteen - seventeen years of age, at
least two people fifteen years of age or older must be in the pool or
on the pool deck at all times the persons use the aquatic facility, Lifeguard
does not have to be present.
Persons age seventeen and older may use the aquatic facility during business

Children under the age of 15 must swim during Lifeguard Hours.

Group Soccer Lessons
The first day of spring is March 20th, lets brush up your soccer skills before your spring
season begins! Haley Koreski, director of youth programming at the Y.A.C. provides YOUTH
children with the option to play soccer year-round!
Private and group soccer lessons help maintain and better your child’s skill and provide children and teenagers with one-on-one guidance that will better the individuals ’tactics and mentality in the game of soccer. Private and Wednesday
group lessons also provide the opportunity to focus on a specific part of the game, such as:shooting, dribbling, passing, soccer specific fitness, etc.
Haley is a very qualified instructor due to her experiences in high school soccer at West Valley; club soccer with the Sun City Strikers, NW Nationals and Eastside F.C.; the Olympic Developmental Program where she qualified for the District, State and Regional teams; as Sports Academy
well as PAC-10 division-one soccer. Junior Athletic Conditioning (JAC)

Private Soccer Lessons - for ages 8 -22 years old
1 person: $15 for 30 minutes, or $30 for a full hour
2-6 persons: $15/hour per person

Indoor Soccer Camp
Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean your kids have to stop playing SOCCER! We
will work on individual skills, passing and the basic mechanics of soccer, all while having fun
and playing games! 8 kids per session, space is limited, so sign up NOW!

Junior Athletic Conditioning (JAC) - Kids Get Fit
!
Kids who are 9-11 years old are refining, improving, and coordinating their skills. It’s a time
when a child’s commitment to a sport maybe be reaffirmed, while other kids may drop out
as competition heats up and level of play improves. It’s okay if your child is not interested in
traditional sports, but it’s important to fi nd alternative ways to be active.
The Yakima Athletic Club has the perfect answer! Check out our 6 week session, starting
Jan. 26, Tues. & Thurs. from 3:15pm-4:15pm. Kids will participate in a variety of activities that
will focus on basic conditioning through a wide range of sport-based exercises, including
proper warm-up techniques, stretching, agility drills, acceleration, deceleration, change in
direction, obstacle courses and games!
Cost: $40 Members $50 Non-Members

Kid
Motion inspires natural energy through games that encourage laughter,
movement and fun. Kid Motion allows kids to build physical skills and
confidence!!!
Come build new friendships and have a great time, while living a healthy
lifestyle through physical fitness & fun! Every Monday is Swim Day !

YAC Night Out
YAC Night Out is an evening full of fun and fitness for kids ages 6 to
12, while parents take pleasure in a Friday night of freedom. This program
offers an alternative option for family participation. Parent(s) work
out while their kids are involved in organized fitness activities and
games. Bring your suit and towel for fun in the pool and then comfortable
clothes for games and more, organized by our healthy and fitness teaching
staff! The program runs on Friday evenings! Free to family memberships!

Little Hoppers
Your little one’s need exercise too!!! How much is enough?
Even at this young age there are activity guidelines. According to the
National Association of Sports and
Physical Education, everyday toddlers should:
• get at least 30 minutes of structured physical activity (adult-led)
• get at least 60 minutes unstructured physical activity (free play)
• not be inactive for more than one hour at a time (except for sleeping)
Haley Koreski, youth director of the Yakima Athletic Club will lead your
active children through drills that will help them reach their daily goals
of physical activity!
